Dr. Mougeh Yasai

Co-Founder & Clinical Director

Mougeh Yasai, Ph.D. is a New York state licensed Clinical Psychologist. She obtained a BA from Vassar College, an MA in Teaching from American University, and a doctoral degree from the Graduate Center, CUNY.  Before pursuing doctoral training in psychology,  Dr. Yasai worked in school settings including elementary and high schools where she worked with children and adolescents who had both learning and behavioral challenges.  She completed her psychology internship at St. Luke’s- Roosevelt Hospital and received her postdoctoral training with Dr. Zoya Simakdoskaya, a leading expert in the field of Emotion-Focused Psychotherapy. For six years, Dr. Yasai served as an Assistant Medical Professor at Sophie Davis Medical School. In addition, she worked with psychiatric residents as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai Medical School. Dr. Yasai has maintained a private practice on the Upper West Side for over ten years.

Dr. David Baskin

Co-Founder & Clinical Director

David Baskin, Psy.D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Co-Founder of Mind Matters Psychology Group. He earned his doctorate from the PGSP-Stanford University Consortium and completed his internship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. He received postdoctoral training with the Victims of Violence Program at Cambridge Health Alliance/ Harvard Medical School. He worked as a clinical psychologist with the Institute for Advanced Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital beginning in 2014, where he held the title of Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine. He has maintained a private practice on the Upper West Side for over ten years.

Zoe Malliaros, LMSW

Psychotherapist

Zoe Malliaros, LMSW is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with an MSW from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter and a BA in Psychology from Harvard College. She has completed internships in community mental health and at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health, and has worked in group private practice for several years. Prior to becoming a therapist, Zoe earned her Master of Architecture from Columbia University and worked for over a decade in NYC architecture and design.

Laura Fodor, LMSW

Psychotherapist

Laura Fodor, LMSW is a New York State psychotherapist with a dual background in clinical mental health and organizational psychology. She obtained her BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Calgary, her MSc in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University, and her MSW from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. Laura’s clinical work is informed by her unique training across both psychology and organizational science, allowing her to approach therapy with a blend of empathy, structure, and insight. Her professional experience spans group private practice, outpatient clinics, inpatient programs, and corporate environments, where she has supported individuals navigating psychological distress and personal growth.

Samantha Vasquez, LCSW

Psychotherapist

Samantha Vasquez, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C is a bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with advanced certification in Oncology Social Work. Samantha earned her Bachelor of Science from Universidad Central del Ecuador in Quito before pursuing higher education in New York, where she obtained her Master of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University. Samantha previously volunteered at the former Breast Health Resource Program at Mount Sinai Hospital, serving as a health educator, community outreach interpreter, and co-facilitator for breast cancer patient support groups. She also worked as an Entitlement Coordinator at a prominent Manhattan advocacy center, where she connected patients with benefits and advocated for their healthcare needs. Her social work internships were completed at Mount Sinai Hospital within the R.E.A.P. (Resource, Entitlement, and Advocacy Program), pediatric asthma, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
