Samantha Vasquez, LCSW, OSW-C

Psychotherapist

I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with advanced certification in Oncology Social Work. I earned my Bachelor of Science from Universidad Central del Ecuador in Quito before pursuing higher education in New York, where I obtained my Master of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University, Lincoln Center. I worked with breast cancer patient support groups and pediatric medical units, including a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where I provided psychotherapeutic support. For ten years, I served at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital in the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, providing family-centered psycho-oncology care to children, adolescents, and young adults facing chronic and terminal illnesses. I offered emotional support, crisis counseling, psychotherapy, and resource management in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

My therapeutic approach is mindful, holistic, and strength-based, emphasizing the creation of a shared space for authentic self-expression where a genuine connection and robust therapeutic alliance are paramount. I work collaboratively with clients to establish a foundation of safety and trust that fosters personal growth. My practice is psychodynamically-oriented and integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, as well as meaning-making, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches. I additionally offer specialized therapies for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), as well as for the treatment of sleep disorders. As a bicultural and multilingual psychotherapist, I offer a culturally-attuned space and welcome individuals from all walks of life. Whether you are navigating a personal challenge, managing daily stressors, or seeking deeper healing and self-discovery, I am dedicated to supporting your well-being.
