My style as a therapist is collaborative, interactive, empathic, and non-judgmental. I view psychotherapy as a vehicle for growth and change, and as a process that must be tailored to each individual’s needs and unique identity. I like to begin with a brief phone consultation, followed by an extended first visit in which I carefully consider your reasons for seeking therapy and work with you to develop a personalized and holistic treatment plan. I strongly believe that developing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is a vital part of treatment, and it is therefore essential that you find a therapist with whom you connect.

As a trauma specialist, I provide treatment to people who have experienced physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse. For those who have suffered prolonged, repeated trauma in their lives, the aftereffects are often complex and frequently misidentified. These may include difficulty managing emotions, self-injury, severe anxiety and depression, chronic problems with identity and relationships, intense feelings of guilt and shame, substance abuse, and medically unexplained physical symptoms. Through therapy, I create a safe and supportive space where the impact of trauma can be faced and explored, where fears and destructive behaviors can be overcome, and where patients can begin to re-establish a sense of safety and connectedness in the world.
