Fees & Insurance

We believe in providing clear and transparent information about our services to build trust and foster strong relationships with our patients and the members of our community.

Fees & Insurance at Mind Matters

We are an out-of-network provider, which means that we don’t work directly with insurance companies. We do provide superbill statements, which you can submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement. We recommend calling your insurance company in advance of starting treatment to learn more about your out-of-network benefits. Questions to keep in mind when speaking with your insurance company include:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health treatment?

  • Do I need prior authorization in order to receive reimbursement?

  • How much does my plan cover for out-of-network mental health treatment?

  • What deductible, out-of-pocket, or co-insurance fees will I be responsible for?

  • How many sessions per calendar year does my insurance plan cover?

  • How do I obtain reimbursement? What information must be included on my claims?

Options for Reduced Fee

As a training practice we maintain a diverse clinical team, which includes skilled pre-licensed therapists under the supervision of senior clinicians. This allows us to offer services at a reduced fee to support greater access to care within the community.

No Surprises Act

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate* of what your services may cost.

*Good Faith Estimate for your care: Under the law (Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act) health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have a right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services. You can ask our practice for a Good Faith Estimate in writing before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. For more information visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
