Zoe Malliaros, LMSW
Psychotherapist
I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker with an MSW from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter and a BA in Psychology from Harvard College. I completed internships in community mental health and at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health, and have worked in group private practice for several years. Prior to becoming a therapist, I earned a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and worked for over a decade in NYC architecture and design.
With warmth, patience, and authenticity, I aim to create a collaborative and safe space to explore your unique experiences and the meanings they hold. My approach is strengths-based, non-judgmental, and rooted in deep respect for every client. I draw upon several modalities that facilitate lasting change, including mindfulness, somatic psychotherapy, EMDR, and DBT. I am particularly interested in the unique ways we process grief, trauma, and life transitions, and in helping clients attune to their bodies. I additionally offer specialized therapies for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), as well as for the treatment of sleep disorders. A former architect, I continue to think creatively about how our micro and macro environments affect us, and I understand the toll that high pressure work environments can take on our mental health.
Regardless of what brings you to therapy, I believe that we are all capable of growth. Together we will draw on your strengths, foster curiosity about what might be holding you back, and work towards feeling better. My practice is LGBTQIA+ and poly/non-monogamy affirming and welcomes clients of all identities and backgrounds.
